There is one permanent full-time position and one temporary/contract 12-month position, both working 35 hours per week.

Purpose:

Reporting to Advisor, Talent Acquisition this role supports the Region’s strategies to source and secure talent, through a full-cycle recruitment process. This role will also represent the Region fostering awareness as an employer of choice and with the goal of attracting candidates. Preferred Background:

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Human Resources or a related field with a minimum of three years’ experience recruiting in a high volume recruiting environment with demonstrated experience in hiring talent in a variety of roles. This role requires an individual with a commitment to customer service and the candidate experience with demonstrated ability to build relationships at various levels of an organization. A strong propensity to source and select top talent and sound communication, influencing, project management and collaboration skills along with the ability to manage sensitive information, demonstrated resourcefulness, problem resolution and decision-making skills is required. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced, changing environment and ability to work independently with urgency and professionalism is key. Advanced technical skills with MS Office Suite, Recruitment Management Systems software and web recruitment tools including, social media is required.

 

Working Conditions:

There will be the occasional need to work outside of core business hours. Some travel within Halton Region required, incumbent must supply their own transportation.

 

Duties:

  • Partner with hiring managers through a full-cycle recruitment process.
  • Develop job postings, screening of applicants, development of interview questions and assessments, participation on interview panel and completion of reference checks and job offer.
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Source candidates and cultivate relationships to build a candidate pipeline.
  • Support summer student and intern hiring.
  • Represent the Region at networking event and job fairs.
  • Support initiatives related to Employer Branding.
  • Leverage social media sites to attract and source talent.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of talent acquisition practices and resources.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
