This is a temporary full-time position working 35 hours per week from June 2017 to June 2018.

Preferred Background:

The successful candidate must possess an under-graduate or graduate degree in Planning and be working towards a Planning designation (CIP). 

 

The candidate is expected to:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Possess superior time management skills and able to manage work flow in order to complete work on time and as expected
  • Exhibit a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and GIS.
  • Be self-motivated capable of working in a team environment and independently
  • Behave in a manner that contributes to a healthy and safe work environment, and positive workplace culture

To be eligible to apply for an intern position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number at time of hire.
  • You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2016 and June 2017.

Duties:

·         Provide front line customer service through the provision of professional planning research and analysis related to the Official Plan review.

·         Undertake and complete planning studies and research assignments related to the Official Plan review.

·         Coordinate, review, assess and provide recommendations on feedback received from the general public, stakeholders and technical agencies related to the Official Plan review.

·         Implement public consultation program by organizing public open houses, preparation of content for public information materials (i.e. brochures, educational products, display panels, website).

·         Support committees and sub-committees created for the Official Plan review.

·         Perform other duties as assigned.
