Pay range:

This is a temporary full-time position working 35 hours per week from June 2017 to June 2018.

Preferred Background:
The successful candidate must possess an under-graduate degree in Sociology, Health Aging and Society, Health Sciences or Administration, Business Administration, or related fields. Knowledge in policy development, data analytics and program evaluation is required. The candidate must be capable of planning and implementing work in an organized manner. The individual must also be able to work collaboratively with others and foster a coordinated and integrated approach to the work.


The candidate is expected to:

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills
  • Possess superior time management skills and able to manage work flow in order to complete work on time and as expected
  • Exhibit a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office product, Google Cloud, Excel
  • Be self-motivated and capable of working in a team environment and independently
  • Behave in a manner that contributes to a healthy and safe work environment, and positive workplace culture

Working Conditions: 

Travel may be required; incumbent must provide their own transportation. The successful candidate will be required to provide a copy of their driver’s license by their first day of employment.  The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on condition that the Regional Municipality of Halton receives a current (obtained within the past six (6) months), original and acceptable Criminal Records Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Screen and a current two-step tuberculosis test (obtained within the past twelve (12) months) by the first day of employment.


To be eligible to apply for an intern position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • In possession of a Social Insurance Number at time of hire.
  • You have graduated or will graduate with a recognized post-secondary degree, post-graduate certificate or diploma between January 2016 and June 2017. 


·         Support the implementation of recommendations related to the review of Older Adult Services

·         Assist in the preparation of briefing materials and council reports

·         Participate in policy development/refinement

·         Analyze data related to customer experience

·         Support corporate programs

·         Perform other duties as assigned.

·         Assist in educational and knowledge transfer activities

·         Support the implementation of technology initiatives 

·         Identify and support business process improvements
