The Health Department operates sexual health clinics at five different locations in Halton Region. All clinics are confidential and do not require a health card. All clinics are wheelchair accessible and have free parking available.

New clinic hours at Burlington and Oakville locations effective June 4, 2018

  • To find hours of operation for a clinic in your area, choose a city or town from the Select where you live section below.
  • Clinic hours for Acton, Milton and Georgetown will stay the same.

Service update for all clinics

Starting June 4, 2018, all five clinics provide a full range of services during both walk-in and appointment hours, including:

  • public health nurses and a physician or nurse practitioner on site at all times; and
  • all services offered during clinic hours for both appointments and walk-in.

Note: Clinic staff do their best to see all clients. However, due to high demand during walk-in hours, we may not be able to see everyone. To ensure that you see a nurse/physician, please book an appointment.

As of June 4, the clinics provide the following services:

  • Low cost birth control (or prescription for pharmacy)
    • Low cost birth control is available to individuals under the age of 35 years
    • Prescriptions from community health care providers are no longer accepted
  • Free condoms
  • Low cost emergency contraception
  • Free urine pregnancy testing, counseling and referral
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) testing and free treatment
  • Anonymous and nominal (using your name and identifiers) HIV testing
  • Free hepatitis A and B vaccinations
  • HPV vaccinations
  • Free needle exchange and harm reduction supplies
  • Free Naloxone overdose prevention kits (for opioid overdose)

Sexual Health Clinic Video Tour 2011

This video tells the story of John and Erica as they visit the Sexual Health Clinic in the Health@232 Oakville location. The video dispels myths and fears they may have about visiting the clinic and the services offered such as pregnancy testing, low cost birth control, and STI testing.
