Halton Region is hosting a job fair on Wednesday, April 5 from 1 to 5 p.m. at the Burlington Convention Centre (1120 Burloak Drive, Burlington). Job seekers are invited to bring their resumes and prepare to meet with more than 70 local employers.
“Helping employers connect with talented and motivated professionals in Halton is one important way we are supporting the business community and strengthening our local economy” said Halton Regional Chair Gary Carr. “Our job fairs are well attended and employers from the technology, manufacturing, government, retail and hospitality sectors are ready to meet with people to discuss their career goals.”
Employment Halton provides services to more than 8,000 job seekers and over 200 employers every year. They also provide a wide range of services to the region’s employers to support their recruiting efforts, with an average of more than 250 direct placement matches per year.
As a service provider for Employment Ontario, Employment Halton offers resource centre services, one-on-one job search support, training incentives for employers, an online job board at haltonjobs.ca, apprenticeship opportunities and programs such as Second Career, which provides assistance to participants as they retrain for a new career.
