<title>Halton Region EMS encourages CPR and defibrillation training</title>
<description>&lt;P&gt;Halton Region Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is reminding residents about 
the importance of CPR and defibrillation training. In a recent six week span, 
Halton Region EMS responded to an unprecedented number of calls where citizen 
responders applied their basic life support skills in the face of a sudden 
cardiac arrest. Between May 14 and June 23, Halton EMS responded to five uses of 
Automated External Defibrillators (AED) which resulted in the revival of four 
patients prior to their arrival at hospital. &lt;/P&gt;</description>

<title>Heat Alert for Halton</title>
<description>&lt;P&gt;As a result of hot temperatures, a Humidex Advisory will be issued by 
Environment Canada beginning today, July 5, 2010. This advisory is due to the 
combination of high heat, high humidity (greater than 40 degrees Celsius) and/or 
other weather conditions that can be hazardous to your health. Even short 
periods of high temperatures can cause serious health problems. When a Humidex 
Advisory has been issued by Environment Canada, the Health Department issues a 
Heat Alert.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
